Education and Outreach

Purpose of The Program

By enhancing communication and outreach, T&L Foundation is educating caregivers, parents and supporting organizations about the critical need to improve quality child care and education through implementing health and wellness programs in the child care setting – whether it is a professional or family member setting.  Some examples:
  • Improve the distribution of existing health and wellness materials.
  • Modify existing resources and content so additional individuals will identify with it and make it easier to implement.
  • Assist with outreach and education to support existing organizations that focus on health and wellness in quality child care and early education settings to get their programs and messages into the right hands.  For example: The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  T&L Foundation will help create and distribute positive messaging for the CACFP as well as create partnerships with like-minded organizations/businesses to encourage outreach and educational materials to caregivers and parents.
  • Create new and innovative ways to share information.Find ways to gain access to and influence the people creating and implementing the health and wellness policies in child care settings.
T&L Foundation intends to use websites and various social media outlets such as discussion forums, blogs and social networking sites to improve outreach of educational materials and encourage conversations about child health and wellness with an emphasis on child care.
